Pearl

One Day you'll lift me like a Breath of Air   Just to put me back in my Chair You'll run your Hands o'er my Paper Skin As I Hold my Breath to keep the Pain Within This is a Precious and Fragile World And you're my Angel, my Little Pearl As my Light goes out, you'll see the World As a Scary Place, Your life Unfurled You'll Shed your Tears as they Lay me Down So far Under that Cold, Damp Ground But don't you Cry as you Think of me That's just my Vessel, not Where I'll be I'll Wait for you in Paradise And very soon you'll Realize That I'm not Gone, I'm still with you I just went to Prepare our Room You are my Love Forevermore From this Earth to the Celestial Shore So, When you're Ready just Take my Hand Let me Walk you to the Promised Land You'll need no Lamp to Light our Way His Presence makes it Bright as Day Dry your Tears now Little Girl I'll be Waiting -   Little Pearl

Raptured

I hear the Booming Voice of The Archangel in the Cloud I hear the Angel's Trumpet Resounding Clear and Loud Every Gaze Upon the Lion Megiddo's Valley Fully Won Clouds that Part the Darkness For the Light of Heaven's Come Every Knee that will not Bow Is broken where it Stands So Not a One's Remaining Who His Glory will Withstand I see Those Who Died Before Me Who Loved you even More Rising from the Ashes Of Earthly Death Before Caught up with You, Christ Jesus, Ascending through the Air, Transformed in but a Moment, To Heaven's Latest Heir
Be Kind, Content, Grateful, and Devout   My inner peace comes from trusting God in all things and refusing to take them back from him. When I let something go, it's given to him, so that he may control the outcome. What better engineer to give a problem to than the creator of the universe. I create anxiety when I wrestle with God over the course He takes me down. I create anxiety for others when I worry over that which I have no control; thereby creating events and circumstances that God did not intend to be created as He works through my problem. I can prevent much by being peaceful, by being centered, by being kind, devout, and content. Mostly, all things will find their stasis when I am grateful.   I am grateful for my parents, who loved me each in their own ways; for my siblings who still love me, and whom I love dearly. I'm grateful for my home; for the dog that loves me even when I don't deserve it. I'm grateful for the career that I chose early on in li...

SECOND CHANCES

You're here a Little Early He Said as I Stood Tall What Brought you Here so Prematurely Did you Take a Fall I Knew not how to Answer Him My Lip Began to Quiver At Once I Felt so All Ashamed My Knees Began to Shiver He Rose up from his Mighty Throne And Slowly Came to Me Wrapped His Arms Around my Head And Began to Comfort Me I Expected You One Day my Son That Day was Not Today Now I Need you to Confess Just How This Went Astray Why Didn't you Just Trust in Me To Take you Through the Trials Then Took my Face into His Hands No Point in Your Denial I Clinched His Robe and Begged Him Please I Need to Just Come In But in My Holy Father's House My Verdict Now was Sin There was no Sacrifice to Cover The Awful Thing I'd Done His Holiness Withdrew from Me So Now I Stood Alone Desolation Came on Me Like Water from a Wave My Heart Sunk Deep into my Chest Eternity the Grave Now Just as I began to Leave All Hope for Life in Heaven Tears of Joy Filled Both my Eyes My Alarm Clock Just...

Azure Eyes

I said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard For every thought and hope and dream Was nestled in His word I prayed that love would find you And all your dreams come true To see yourself as I see you With Azure Eyes anew For your children I prayed happiness For your kittens I prayed too They bring you so much joy in life Known by so very few But mostly I prayed for your heart That God might soften you The love you give could be immense For the righteous man that's true Guarded hearts love part-time A guarded tongue's a jewel Words can break a strong man's bones Though never meant as cruel So always speak with kindness To someone whom you love You'll get it back a thousand fold With blessings from above I told God that I loved you I asked He keep you safe He answered that He loves you more And that's always been His place Woody Boswell Copyright 2017

The Snow Fell Gently in the Night I took her Hand and All Felt Right Through those Doors we Slowly Walked Her Mom and I Smiled and Talked She Laid upon the Softest Down With Family Standing All Around And in that Moment Christ was There As I Softly Stroked her Hair The Pain she felt Faded Away As God's Grace came Here to Stay Through the Breach a Loving Girl Who that day Became my World Sleeping Child her Mother's Charm Laying back with Outstretched Arms A Miracle upon my Life Second only to my Wife Woody Boswell Copyright 2018

Chapter 5- This Isn't the End of the World, but you can see it from Here

The pager beeped loudly, vibrating across the dresser, waking him from a deep sleep and leaving him momentarily disoriented. In just a few seconds his feet were on the floor and the lights were coming on. He grabbed the pager and read the message, "Tactical Situation Exists on Spring Trace Lane, Newport News, Assembly Point Spring Trace at Saunders Road." He'd barely been asleep an hour, but now he was wide awake. His wife exited her side of the bed almost as quickly as he did. "What do you need?" "Can you fix me a couple of sandwiches, honey?" "Sure", she replied, slipped on her robe, and made her way to the kitchen.      The Nomex Flight suit was the Tactical Operations Unit Assault Team's uniform of choice several years ago. Good pockets; easy to put on and roomy, but most importantly, fire resistant. Body armor slips right over it without bunching, and the load bearing vest is easily maintained separately as necessary. He stepp...

Cotton Candy Kisses

When first we met I thought I'd found you A girl I'd only dreamed about And when we kissed it was amazing I was in love there was no doubt I wanted so to make you happy To make you feel like you were loved And if I failed it's not for trying For in my heart you were beloved You'll never know how much I loved you You'll never know now what could be Clouded minds just can't see clearly Confused by circumstantial need But now until the end of time When blonde has fully grayed You'll know that one man loved you so Whose memory just won't fade Who thought your lips as sweet as wine Your touch he daily missed And took the time to dream about Your cotton candy kiss Now that we have finally parted And your face no more I see Won't you sometimes sit and wonder Won't you sometimes think of me

Dreamer

Her hair cascades like waterfalls Crashing over her shoulders Her eyes are soft as pillows With a fire that slowly smolders A kiss as soft as cotton balls Her lips so full and bright Curves that move this way and that As I trace them in the night I watch her sleep so peacefully Her head upon my chest And I am so content As I close my eyes and rest I never really know her name I see her but each night For when I open up my eyes She's gone with mornings light

The Great White Throne

Heaven's gate has opened wide For I am coming home My God has called on me at last From high upon his throne This moment that I've longed for  His calling draws me nigh And I shall be obedient  To my Lord who sits on high I kneel before his mighty throne With head so humbly bowed And hear the whispers 'round the throne Of Heaven's fearful crowd What will, you think, become of him I hear their whispers grave Do you think that he believed Do you think he's saved  Now as the Lord commanded me And as I slowly rise I see the Angel wink at me Much to my surprise The trumpets blew as judgement came My Lord commanded me Come boldly to my throne my son For you have been set free Your sins have always been forgiven Since you were very little When first you called upon my name Your verdict was acquittal Now rise and cast your yoke on me Your place is now in Heaven In your Holy Father's house Your debt has been forgiven The crowd th...

God Rap

You spoke my name and I became Your breath fills my chest Your spirit gave me a name Different from the rest Fearlessly I walk as we talk No valley too low No mountain too high My heart only you know You made me strong gave me a song In my heart to share With one who is tender With one who will care You made me for a reason not a season My walk is forever with you Who lights my path The only One who is true

The Path

He said that love is patient He said that love is kind With Him there is no record Of your wrongs or of mine What are we then if not His works What did He come here for If we can't simply read His word And erase the bloody score My slate is clean and so is yours My journal pages white Now I choose to take a stand And walk out in the light Walk with me now if you dare Put your hand in mine Together we will stride the path He's left for us to find No day will be without my love I promise every moment true For you will be my purest friend And I your Soldier Blue

Forgiveness

On bended knee I seek you My father whom I trust I feel your disappointment My pain and shame too much Too much for whom a voice replies You forget now where you tread When first you called upon my name My hand was on your head I cast your sins from east to west I forgive you now my son Your price was paid upon a cross Your soul at stake was won What's past is past I heard him speak Now go and sin no more Find a wife that loves me too And watch my blessings pour I'll teach her all about you What comforts you in pain And how you love to take a walk In the summer evening rain The man in you will quickly be The sunshine in her life She'll have your love the rest of days And be your faithful wife She'll have to learn how to forgive For you're a complex man But if she does her life will be Amazing through my plan So too it's you that now must learn To trust me in the rain For when you walk I walk with you That's where I heal ...

Snake in Eden

Winter skies bring longing gaze of promises amidst a haze of emptiness and loss In frigid cold the owl unfolds Her wings and takes to flight Natures tempest tossed Now sun shines upon the snow As dawn reveals secreted foe Amidst the floral moss She sweeps her wings wide Catching wind and slows Her speed to loss Talons wide with Spartan pride Her chick deep in it's grasp The snake is tossed Done and done the snake so shuned And so the mother knows Her fate is lost With exasperated breath the screech The mother owl doeth shrink Into the winter frost Owl resplendent in relief Her chick now safe at cost Her life now all but lost Will a bite within her feathers mend Mother Owl knows better friend Her save comes at such cost A bowed head for it is said God's love is ne'er for not But love is still so often fraught Raised head held o'er the dead Of he who promised hurt Snake in Eden naught

Pride

I know that life is sometimes hard It helps to have a friend I thought I'd found a friend in you So hearts could fully mend Now people sometimes grumble That's just part of life And when that happens wrap your arms Around unwanted strife Stand your ground with softened tone Hold your arms out wide Wounded hearts just need to see That love can master pride Don't run away when thunder rolls So anger can creep in Tell him that you love him true Do not empower sin You'll find that soon he'll wonder what He grumbled for to start And with a gentle hug and kiss You've healed a wounded heart

Breaking Trail

Skies of azure blue and bold Portend a future still untold Hope the venture still to seek And praying that my soul He'll keep Walking sure this uncut trail Never feeling quite so frail Yet with a strong intrepid heart Pledge my soul this path to chart J.W.Boswell Copyright 2015

The Fence

I walk the fence each day and see The long haired playful pooch And as I say hello to her I always blow a smooch She runs the fence and hops upon Her hind legs as we play Until I reached across the fence One cold December day Her teeth so hard and long and sharp Sank deep into my hand The playfulness she'd shown me once I must misunderstand What happened to my playful girl So lovely to befriend The one I reached to pet that day And seemed to bad offend I'll never know the reason why I'll keep upon my way Why pet the dog that bites my hand A second time I say J.W. Bitter Tears

When first we met I lost my heart To her while in that bar A drink and dance what happiness I thought I'd found my star Then circumstance took us apart And life got in our way I always hoped to find again That girl that wouldn't stay Then once again I found her there And once again found love Two hearts as one under the sun And blessed by God above But bitter tears prevailed one night The She Wolf came within And left us both with broken hearts With her tale of shame and sin Now the last of this is not yet wrought The tale of love unsure For we do love each other still Despite the saboteur Her name will be upon my lips Even with my dying breath And I shall love her all my days Until we part in death J. She-Wolf

Image
She stalks the night in search of him Unwary heart without the sin Of betrayal in his thoughts And with such stealthiness she prowls Without so much as e'er a growl Regret an afterthought She spies her prey and pins him in Then sinks her bloody teeth within His crippled heart begot Her fangs are sharp and deep they grate Leaving him to exsanguinate With eyes the devil wrought J.W. Torrid Nights

Torrid nights replace the days Lovers hearts amidst the haze Broken in so many ways What hope for Soldier Blue Dancing with the Reaper Grim Stainless steel and lead within Wine to mask the bloody sin Now finally Soldier True One more glass before the crime Will reason enter just in time And in the daylight who will find Must think this through so well Alas my mind I can't make up I think I'll just refill my cup Afore this monster dost erupt And takes me straight to Hell J.W.
