Forgiveness

On bended knee I seek you My father whom I trust I feel your disappointment My pain and shame too much Too much for whom a voice replies You forget now where you tread When first you called upon my name My hand was on your head I cast your sins from east to west I forgive you now my son Your price was paid upon a cross Your soul at stake was won What's past is past I heard him speak Now go and sin no more Find a wife that loves me too And watch my blessings pour I'll teach her all about you What comforts you in pain And how you love to take a walk In the summer evening rain The man in you will quickly be The sunshine in her life She'll have your love the rest of days And be your faithful wife She'll have to learn how to forgive For you're a complex man But if she does her life will be Amazing through my plan So too it's you that now must learn To trust me in the rain For when you walk I walk with you That's where I heal ...

Snake in Eden

Winter skies bring longing gaze of promises amidst a haze of emptiness and loss In frigid cold the owl unfolds Her wings and takes to flight Natures tempest tossed Now sun shines upon the snow As dawn reveals secreted foe Amidst the floral moss She sweeps her wings wide Catching wind and slows Her speed to loss Talons wide with Spartan pride Her chick deep in it's grasp The snake is tossed Done and done the snake so shuned And so the mother knows Her fate is lost With exasperated breath the screech The mother owl doeth shrink Into the winter frost Owl resplendent in relief Her chick now safe at cost Her life now all but lost Will a bite within her feathers mend Mother Owl knows better friend Her save comes at such cost A bowed head for it is said God's love is ne'er for not But love is still so often fraught Raised head held o'er the dead Of he who promised hurt Snake in Eden naught

Pride

I know that life is sometimes hard It helps to have a friend I thought I'd found a friend in you So hearts could fully mend Now people sometimes grumble That's just part of life And when that happens wrap your arms Around unwanted strife Stand your ground with softened tone Hold your arms out wide Wounded hearts just need to see That love can master pride Don't run away when thunder rolls So anger can creep in Tell him that you love him true Do not empower sin You'll find that soon he'll wonder what He grumbled for to start And with a gentle hug and kiss You've healed a wounded heart

Breaking Trail

Skies of azure blue and bold Portend a future still untold Hope the venture still to seek And praying that my soul He'll keep Walking sure this uncut trail Never feeling quite so frail Yet with a strong intrepid heart Pledge my soul this path to chart J.W.Boswell Copyright 2015

The Fence

I walk the fence each day and see The long haired playful pooch And as I say hello to her I always blow a smooch She runs the fence and hops upon Her hind legs as we play Until I reached across the fence One cold December day Her teeth so hard and long and sharp Sank deep into my hand The playfulness she'd shown me once I must misunderstand What happened to my playful girl So lovely to befriend The one I reached to pet that day And seemed to bad offend I'll never know the reason why I'll keep upon my way Why pet the dog that bites my hand A second time I say J.W. Bitter Tears

When first we met I lost my heart To her while in that bar A drink and dance what happiness I thought I'd found my star Then circumstance took us apart And life got in our way I always hoped to find again That girl that wouldn't stay Then once again I found her there And once again found love Two hearts as one under the sun And blessed by God above But bitter tears prevailed one night The She Wolf came within And left us both with broken hearts With her tale of shame and sin Now the last of this is not yet wrought The tale of love unsure For we do love each other still Despite the saboteur Her name will be upon my lips Even with my dying breath And I shall love her all my days Until we part in death J. She-Wolf

Image
She stalks the night in search of him Unwary heart without the sin Of betrayal in his thoughts And with such stealthiness she prowls Without so much as e'er a growl Regret an afterthought She spies her prey and pins him in Then sinks her bloody teeth within His crippled heart begot Her fangs are sharp and deep they grate Leaving him to exsanguinate With eyes the devil wrought J.W.
